NEW YORK, NY 11/27/2013 – Italian heritage label Bottega Veneta is debuting BV, its 25 piece spring summer 2014 diffusion menswear line, on Saturday, December 6th at the brand’s flagship on Madison Avenue.
Embracing the signature tailoring and fantastic fit of the Bottega Veneta brand, BV also offers sophisticated business wear for the modern man, but at a lower price range. The collection spans all aspects of office wear, including fitted blazers and light jackets as well as 2 full suits. Fine accessories from silver cufflinks and silk ties to a strong selection of leather goods will be sold alongside traditional business essentials of dress shirts and tailored slacks. Currently, the BV line is to be sold in existing Bottega Veneta retailers priced from $75 to $1,500.
BV’S flagship event will be America’s first look at the diffusion line, which was conceived in Vicenza, Italy by the resident Bottega Veneta creative team. The even will be co-hosted by Bottega Veneta’s Creative Director Aida Rossi and world-renowned film director Nick Knight, who directed a short fashion film for the launch. “I wanted to capture the essence of the well-dressed working man in the midst of an urban rush hour,” says Knight. In a “New York minute,” the businessman’s outfit changes, from entering the platform to riding the car to exiting the subway. The film showcases five ensembles of head-to-toe BV merchandise, from an impeccable blazer and crisp shirt to the ubiquitous leather briefcase. The collection will also be exhibited presentation-style, including a special appearance by Arthur Gosse at VNY Model Management, the businessman cast for Knight’s film.
The exclusive guest list includes top editors and buyers as well as selected press. Bottega Veneta’s Marketing Director Katey Kalvelage will also be speaking on the digital features and future launch date for an independent BV e-commerce site.
